Description of TPS22945

The TPS22941/2/3/4/5 load switches provide system and load protection under high current conditions. These devices contain a 0.4Ω current-limited P-channel MOSFET that operates over an input voltage range of 1.62V to 5.5V. When the MOSFET is turned off, current is blocked from flowing. The switch is controlled by an on/off input (ON) which can be connected directly to the low voltage control signal. The TPS22941/2/3/4/5 include thermal shutdown protection to prevent damage to the device when continuous overcurrent conditions cause overheating by closing the switch.

These devices provide an integrated, robust solution to limit the output current to a safe level by switching to constant current mode when the output load exceeds the current limit threshold. The OC logic output is asserted low during overcurrent, undervoltage, or overtemperature conditions. These additional features make the TPS22941/2/3/4/5 an ideal solution for applications requiring current limiting.

This family of devices is available in the SC70-5 (DCK) package. It features operation in a free air temperature range of –40°C to 85°C.
