SoC design and application technology leader Socionext Inc. (hereinafter "Socionext") announced the successful development of an HDMI module "cecTalker". This module is equipped with the company's self-developed HDMI controller chip, which allows users to easily design UI and UX for the device, and connect and control the device through the HDMI interface. The product is sampling now, with mass production expected in January 2021.

The "cecTalker" is equipped with a Consumer Electronics Control (CEC) function that allows users to command and control HDMI-connected devices by using only one remote control. cecTalker allows users to easily integrate HDMI compatible devices, even if these devices are from different device manufacturers and do not have a standard link function. In terms of product development, in addition to using a PC, users can also develop products on popular open source hardware platforms such as Raspberry Pi, Arduino, and SPRESENSE. cecTalker is also certified to the HDMI standard, so device manufacturers can use this product as a stand-alone component or integrate it into their own products, allowing device manufacturers to easily complete new functions and application content verification in a short time, Testing and mass production. cecTalker can be widely used in the connection of audio and video equipment and smart home equipment, the construction of home Internet of things, video distribution, medical and industrial equipment and other application scenarios.

The cecTalker family of products includes the "HDMI Model" with HDMI input and output ports, and the "V-by-One Model" with additional V-by-One and HDMI conversion functions. Samples of both models are currently available for customer testing, and mass production sales are planned for January 2021.
