Ring varistor function:
The biggest feature of the ring varistor is that when the voltage applied to it is lower than its threshold, the current flowing through it is extremely small, which is equivalent to a closed valve. Using this function, the abnormal overvoltage that often occurs in the circuit can be suppressed, and the circuit can be protected from the danger of overvoltage. Generally, a ring varistor has a high resistance at low voltage, and will become a low resistance state when it exceeds a certain voltage. It is mainly used for overvoltage protection and absorbing surge current. For example, the ring varistor is used as the sensitive element in the overvoltage leakage maintenance switch.
There is a parameter on the ring varistor is the voltage parameter. Connect the ring varistor in parallel with the electrical appliance. If the voltage exceeds its value, the ring varistor will be turned on and the voltage will be lowered to maintain the electrical appliance. When the voltage at both ends of the ring varistor is greater than the resistance of the ring varistor, the ring varistor is turned on, the line current becomes larger, and the fuse is burned, and then the maintenance appliances will not be damaged by high voltage.
