CN3704 is a four-cell lithium battery charging management integrated circuit in PWM step-down mode, which independently and automatically manages four-cell lithium battery charging. It has the advantages of small package size, few peripheral components and simple use. CN3704 has constant current and constant voltage charging mode, which is very suitable for charging lithium batteries. In constant voltage charging mode, CN3704 modulates the battery voltage at 16.8V with an accuracy of ±1%; in constant current charging mode, the charging current is set by an external resistor. For deeply discharged lithium batteries, when the battery voltage is lower than 11.2V, the CN3704 trickles the battery with 15% of the set constant current charging current. In the constant voltage charging stage, the charging current gradually decreases, and when the charging current decreases to the value set by the external resistor, the charging ends. At the end of the charging state, if the battery voltage drops to 16V, a new charging cycle starts automatically. When the input power fails or the input voltage is lower than the battery voltage, the CN3704 automatically enters a low-power sleep mode. Other features include input low voltage latch, battery temperature monitoring, battery terminal overvoltage protection and charge status indication. CN3704 is packaged in 16-pin TSSOP.
