Taiwan Realtek (REALTEK) RTL8153 10/100/1000M Ethernet controller combined with IEEE 802.3 u Media Access Control (MAC), USB 3.0 bus controller, embedded memory. With advanced DSP technology and complex signal technology, RTL8153 provides high-speed transmission over Cat 5 UTP cable or Cat 3 UTP cable (only 10 mbps). Functions such as cross detection and automatic calibration, polarity correction, adaptive equalization, crosstalk cancellation, echo cancellation, timing recovery, and error correction provide strong transmit and receive capabilities. The RTL8153 has embedded one-time programmable (OTP) memory that can replace external EEPROM (93C46/93C56/93C66/TWSI).

The USB 3.0 RTL8153 features provide higher bandwidth and improved protocols for data exchange between host and device. USB 3.0 also offers more advanced power management features to save energy.

The built-in 5V to 3.3V Regulator of RTL8153 can be directly powered by USB without external power supply. It has built-in one-time programmable read-only memory and a single 25MHZ input Clock, which greatly improves the competitiveness of the product.

Advanced Configuration Power Management Interface (ACPI) Power Management Modern operating systems capable of operating System-directed Power Management (OSPM) are supported for achieving the most efficient power management. In addition to ACPI functionality, Remote Wakeup (including AMD Magic Pack and Microsoft Wakeup Frame) supports ACPI and APM (Advanced Power Management) environments.

RTL8153 supports Microsoft Wake Packet Detection (WPD), providing wakeup frame information for the operating system, such as PatternID, OriginalPacketSize, SavedPacketSize, SavedPacketOffset, etc. WPD helps prevent unwanted/unauthorized wakeups of hibernating computers.

The RTL8153 supports RealWoW! This technology can remotely wake up a sleeping PC via the Internet. This feature reduces power consumption by allowing the PC to remain in a low-power sleep state when needed.
